Playa Viva is one of our most amazing and magical experiences. It’s in a remote beach in Mexico. You and the other guests are the only people in the area so you have complete privacy. The rooms are each uniquely designed and built with natural materials. There’s so many unique architectural touches and creative designs that makes the place feel truly magical. We stayed at infinity casita, their newest addition and truly worth being the most expensive room. It has magical 360 views so you can see both sunset and sunrise on the 2nd floor. Most of the food here is grown on their own farm and served to you fresh daily.

Our recent visit to Playa Viva was incredible - the highlight of our time in the area. From the design of the spaces and buildings to the authentic hospitality of every team member we interacted with, we were WOW'd!! And on top of everything - stunning landscape, incredible food, beautifully curated experiences and amenities, wonderful genuine care in our interactions - Playa Viva is a living demonstration of regenerative business and regenerative travel principles. Everything they do is about contributing to the thriving of the local area, its people, and their culture and traditions. (No wonder the have two Michelin keys). Traveling from Zihuatanejo could not have been easier. We arranged our own local taxi but the Playa Viva team was more than happy to set this up and we'll likely have them do it in the future for us. I am an adventurous but mindful traveler. I read the travel advisories that suggested caution in the area but I found no issues of any kind. Quite the contrary, the drive from Zihuatanejo was filled with amazing sites, local towns, and was only about a 45 min commute from the airport (we travelled on a Sunday). Highly recommend a visit here. When I have a chance to spend my tourism dollars in a way that supports local people and our planet, I am always grateful. Playa Viva makes all of that possible AND a beautiful experience where you feel completely seen and cared for - my heartfelt gratitude to the whole team.

Playa Viva is a wonderful retreat away from the busy lives we lead. I loved the location - it’s so peaceful and quiet, and you can walk for miles on the beach in either direction without seeing any development. The food is fabulous and the staff think of every detail so you can really relax. The massage and facial I got here were great. The bed was really comfortable. The people were so friendly. And I felt so safe and cared for here. I also did an excursion up the mountain and had a wonderful time! But you can also come and stay and not leave again until it’s time to, sadly, checkout.

An amazing place. The tree houses are such a unique and unforgettable experience. The staff and guests have been incredibly fun and welcoming. It’s surprising to find such outstanding infrastructure in such a remote location. The playa is absolutely wonderful, a pristine beach stretching as far as the eye can see. Mealtime is another highlight. The food is delicious, and sharing meals with the other guests makes it even more special. Great place that is hard to leave!

A beautiful resort with a very private wide beach and swimming pool. Accommodations are open to catch ocean breezes and the sound of waves with very comfortable beds. The food is fantastic, plentiful and healthy. Yoga classes are every morning with excellent instruction. The teachers are terrific. Staff provide exceptional service and they make you feel at home. I will be back!

Our stay at Playa Viva has been truly incredible and quite possibly our best vacation yet! From the expansive and remote-feel beach, to the farm fresh food, the sweet staff, we felt safe and at home here. We stayed in the infinity casita which is near the tortuga yoga pergola, where we experienced a restorative yoga session with Sofia and a cacao ritual with Lupita. The infinity casita is private yet homey, with an epic second story boasting 360 views of the 200 acre property. The food, I could write a review about on its own; so fresh and delicious, prepared with intention as you can taste it. We had a salad from the farm with every meal, the fish was always exquisite and the desserts on point. We went home with some cacao, sea salt, and farm fresh turmeric, hibiscus and moranga powder purchased from the boutique. Thank you Playa Viva!!!

I had an amazing stay at Playa Viva in Ixtapa. The service was excellent from the moment I arrived — the staff is incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive. The food was beyond incredible; my only concern every day was trying to figure out how I was going to make room for the next meal because everything was so delicious. The beach is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. We were lucky enough to see whales and dolphins right in front of the hotel — truly an unforgettable experience. Playa Viva is a special place where nature, comfort, and great hospitality come together perfectly. Highly recommended!

Staying at Playa Viva was like a dream. Everything from the arrival, to the service, to the food, to the rooms, to the pool is impeccable and every detail is well thought out and considered. The staff is wonderful and I enjoyed knowing I’m at a place that is not exploiting the people or the land. Make sure to experience the seat turtles being released. This place is a gift!
